2023 All Star a HUGE Success!
Just when you think it couldn't get any better.....the 2nd Annual LMBL All Star game proved to be an ever GREATER success in the 2023 version!

Being played at the new fully turf diamond in Dorchester, Royal Field, fans and players alike were mesmerized by the quality of the new facility.  This set the tone for a fun and eventful evening of baseball skills competitions and All Star Game action.

Kicking off the evening events was the inaugural bunt-off competition - where competitors attempted to place their well-positioned short-hits into target areas on the first or third baseline.  Once it was complete, Jake Morgan walked away with the title of best bunter - so pitchers take note of this fact for the rest of the season!

Next up with the outfield-to-home throwing accuracy contest.  This proved more challenging that anticipated, but once the competitors caught on the the strategy, Marshall Bevin managed to bounce the most baseballs into the kiddie pool home plate target - walking away with a gift card from Eleven Sixty bar and Grill!

The the event everyone was waiting for - the classic Home Run Competition.  Steve Froese proved to be too much in the final round, pounding out seven HR's to capture the title, and prize from our Platinum Sponsor HRD Bats - a customized bat of his choice, and the engraved Trophy Bat for above the mantle!  Congrats!

When the game itself began, it was a good battle for most of the night - but a classic LMBL limited 6 run inning proved to be the difference maker in this one.  Team Read (coached by Ryan Applin) walked away as 8-4 winners over Team Blue (Coached by Jamie Kruspel).  This being said, everyone in attendance were winners on this night - as they enjoyed great food from the onsite grill (Thanks to Chef Korey and Katherine), great music throughout the evening (thanks again DJ Katherine - the Queen of multi-tasking!).

This event couldn't have been what it was without the support from all 14 teams in the LMBL who sent at least two representatives each - and the volunteers and sponsors who helped out - especially our league President Jamie Grenier - who led the charge with organizing and soliciting the sponsorships necessary to pull something like this off.

And finally to the fans.  It was great to see all of the wives, girlfriends, and especially the kids around the park.  They were able to participate the balloon toss, and enjoy a Freezie and a hot dog - what else is more baseball than that??

See you all in 2024!
