Marlins Late Push Leads To Victory Over the Mets
The Marlins snatched the lead late in their 12-11 walk-off victory over the Mets on
Sunday.
Despite falling down by four runs in the second inning, the Marlins continued to fight back. The Marlins closed the gap by scoring on a fielder's choice, a
single, a walk, an error, a single, a single, a hit by pitch, and a fielder's
choice.
The Mets jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after
Dave Thompson doubled, scoring one run, and Serge Manso singled, scoring two
runs.
The Mets added to their early lead in the top of the second inning
after the Marlins committed an error, and Brad Nuttall grounded into a fielder's
choice, each scoring one run.
The Mets added one run in the third after Thompson hit a sacrifice
fly.
The Mets committed an error, which helped Marlins tie the game at six
in the bottom of the third.
The Mets took the lead, 9-6, in the top of the fourth thanks to
singles by Jared Vint, and Al Campbell.

(five earned) over three innings, striking out two and walking two.

Usher each collected two hits for Mets. Manso, Campbell, and Thompson each
drove in two runs for the Mets. Mets had a strong eye at the plate, amassing six
