The Expos were victorious against the Werewolves 5-3 on Sunday at Labatt
Memorial Park.
A single by Kyle Gormandy put the Expos on the board in the top of the
second.
Kenehan (spare) grounded into a double play, which helped the Werewolves tie the game at one in the bottom of the second.
A single by Norm James gave the Werewolves the lead, 2-1, in the
bottom of the third.
The Expos made the score 4-2 in the top of the fourth after Brett
Thomas doubled, scoring two runs, and Gormandy singled, scoring one run.
Jordan Satchell led things off on the hill for the Expos. The hurler
gave up six hits and two runs (one earned) over three innings, striking out
none and walking none. Tyler Koot started on the bump for the Werewolves. The
starting pitcher surrendered four hits and one run over three innings, striking
out two and walking none. Craig Gillet pitched one inning of shutout ball for the Expos in relief. The lefty allowed one hit, striking out none and walking none.
The Expos piled up 13 hits in the game. The Expos Gormandy, the number
seven hitter, led the Expos with three hits in three at bats. Thomas and Gormandy
each drove in two runs for the Expos. Adam Thomson and Satchell each collected
multiple hits for the Expos. Kyle Provily and Steve Froese each stole multiple
bases for the Expos. The Expos stole four bases in the game and turned two double
plays in the game.
The Werewolves collected 10 hits in the game. Pat Noonan and James
were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for the Werewolves. Chris Devlin and Koot each collected multiple hits for the Werewolves, and they turned one double play in the game.
