LMBL Game of the Week #3

Dodgers scored four runs in the third inning, but Pirates still won 8-6 on Sunday.

The big inning for Dodgers came thanks to singles by Andrew Weiler and Richard Booker and a groundout by Stefan Vince.

  • Bats blistered as Pirates collected 13 hits and Dodgers tallied five in the high-scoring game.
  • Pirates got things started in the first inning when Chad Gray singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
  • Pirates took the lead for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Mike Gemmell singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs and Mike Reaume singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
  • Reaume took the win for Pirates. The pitcher lasted three innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out five and walking one. Darryl Greer threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Greer recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Pirates.
  • Joe Peter took the loss for DodgersPeter went one inning, allowing three runs on two hits and striking out one.
  • Paul Willer started the game for Dodgers. The hurler went three innings, allowing four runs on nine hits, striking out one and walking zero Gemmell started the game for Pirates. The ace allowed three hits and four runs over three innings, striking out two
  • Pirates scattered 13 hits in the game. Ray ParkinsStephen SweeneyDaniel Moore, and Reaume each collected multiple hits for PiratesParkins went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Pirates in hits.
  • Bob Blake led Dodgers with two hits in two at bats.
