Play Ball!
Submitted By LMBL Registrar on Saturday, July 3, 2021
After one of the most lengthy 'off-seasons' in LMBL history, we are excited to get back on the field for our 29th year with games at Labatt Park and Dan Pulham Stadium on Sunday.

The executive want to give all players and fans an idea of what to expect this season as we head back to the park....

This year we have a shortened 11 game season planned.  There will be four cohorts (divisions) with 4 teams each.  This year we welcome the Rockies and Dodgers into the league on a temporary basis to round out our scheduling.

Divisions were created based on 2019 standings, with new and significantly restructured teams being placed in the D cohort to begin.  Teams will play each team in their division 2x in a home-and-home affair - adding to some friendly rivalry!  After the first 6 games are complete, divisions will be realigned with the 1st place team in each division moving to the A cohort, 2nd place team in each division moving to the B cohort, 3rd place in C, and 4th place in D.

Each team will then play every other team in their new cohort 1 time (3 games total).  Once those games are complete we will realign once again for the playoff round - BASED ON THEIR OVERALL 9 GAME RECORD.

Each new division will play in a 1v4 and 2v3 semi final, with the winners of that semi final playing in the Cohort's championship game (and the losers of the semi finals playing in a consolation game) on the final weekend to complete our season.  Every team will play 11 games.

Tie-breakers for final standings will be as follow:

1 Points
2 Wins
3 Wins Between
4 Differential Between
5 Least Runs Against
6 Rock/Paper/Scissors Match between Managers!

It's the best we can do this year given the circumstances.  Gamechanger will be live for real time scoring and statistics tracking - so get out there and just have some fun and be thankful we are (hopefully) on the road back to normalcy.

See you at the park - and stay safe!
