Season Update - LMBL
The LMBL League Executive are closely monitoring the current COVID-19 protocols in place as stated by our provincial and federal governments.
Currently we are hoping to have some type of season in 2021 - but what that will look like is undetermined.
Registration is open, but we only need about 20 more players to be filled - so we aren't concerned with pushing registrations at this time. We feel we can attain those additional bodies if necessary if we aren't full by the usual deadline of Feb 15th. It'll be first-come-first served after that date (any unregistered returning players will be past the 'grace' period for re-registering).
Online rosters are up-to-date - so league managers have access to see how their teams are looking - to be prepared in case we need to recruit players to get full at a minimum of 15 players per team. The same Free Agent rules are in place for 2021 as in prior years - bottom 7 teams from 2019 can have 2, while the remaining teams can sign 1.
Other than that we are playing the waiting game. The City of London and other venues are not permitting diamond bookings yet until things are more stable with respect to COVID-19 and Baseball Ontario's return-to-play protocols.
Stay safe boys....let's hope we are getting close to being back on the field.
